Group Therapy

Group therapy allows people to work through their problems by sharing common issues in a confidential group setting.  Unlike individual therapy, members benefit from getting support from participants that can relate to one another often reducing loneliness and increasing hope.

What to Expect

You are not alone although you have likely felt that way.  In group therapy you will meet others that are facing similar challenges and have the opportunity to problem solve, give and receive support from the members.  One of our therapist's will lead a teen or adult group of up to ten participants typically meeting for 60-90 minutes per session.

Many groups focus on general mental health needs while others are designed to address specific conditions or problems.  Groups often involve a combination of psychoeducation, processing and strategizing.  They typically meet once a week for a predetermined length of time such as 8-10 weeks.

Who can Benefit

While joining a group may sound intimidating, participant feedback indicates that many members are pleasantly surprised by the rewarding nature of the group experience.  Groups promote socialization, provide a support network, allow for perspective, instill hope, encourage expression of feelings, identify ways to improve challenges and hold one another accountable.
