Individual Therapy
for Children

Emotional and behavioral disorders in childhood can cause long-term problems that may affect their health and well-being.

What to Expect

Therapy with children is meant to treat a mental health condition or help a child to manage their symptoms so that they can function well at home, in school and in their community.

This therapy can be complete with the individual child, their parents or caregivers.  Play therapy is often preferred for children ages 3-11 with emotional, behavioral or social concerns.  In the comfort of a play room, the child will be encouraged to freely and spontaneously express and act out their feelings.

By observing their play, the therapist will better understand their needs and assist them to solve problems.  With the parents or caregivers, they will learn and practice new skills and techniques for relating to children with emotional, behavioral or social concerns.
